Knowledge Organisers
We use knowledge organisers to support pupils with building declarative knowledge, e.g: dates, names of key people and processes, vocabulary of key items to do with a particular unit.
We build into our assessment processes ways to assess how pupils are remembering what is on knowledge organisers. Some methods we use are:
- Pupil voice at the end of a given unit
- Asking them to include key bits in their work, e.g: use the KO to up-level vocabulary
- Before and end of unit assessments
